Gunnery Sergeant Taylor was born 29 December 1980 in Olongapoh City, Philippines. In June 2000, he graduated from Clay High School, Green Cove Springs, FL and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps of July 2000. Upon graduation from Bravo Company, 1stTraining Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC he attend the Basic Aviation Supply School, Meridian MS, where he received the MOS of 6672, Aviation Supply Specialist.

In March 2001, PFC Taylor reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12, MCAS Iwakuni, Japan. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in April of 2001. He was promoted to Corporal in November 2001 and graduated from Corporal’s Course in February 2002. Upon completion of the course, he was also selected to become a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Instructor and completed the course in March 2002, attaining the secondary MOS of 8551, MCMAP Instructor. He served as the MALS-12 Barracks NCO and assistant Barracks Manager. In September 2002, he was assigned to S-3, MALS-12 and deployed to Thailand for Operation Cobra Gold as a MCMAP Instructor and Aviation Supply Specialist.

In July 2003, Cpl Taylor received orders to Marine Aircraft Group 46 where he was assigned as the Supply Response Division NCOIC. In March 2004, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was selected to be the Color Sergeant for MAG-46 HQ.

In October 2004, Sergeant Taylor accepted an Individual Augment assignment and deployed with MALS-42 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as the Aviation Supply NCOIC and Assistant Supply Chief in addition to serving as MCMAP Instructor for HQ Company. Upon his return to MAG-46 HQ, he assumed duties as the Supply Personal Administrative Division NCOIC. In March 2006, he executed orders to Yuma, Arizona in support of Weapons and Tactical Instruction (WTI).

In April 2007, Sergeant Taylor received orders to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA. After graduation he was assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Training Battalion, where he completed two cycles as a drill instructor. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant on January of 2008 and served two more cycles as an experienced drill instructor and then three cycles as a senior drill instructor. During his tour on MCRD San Diego, he was nominated on two separate occasions for Senior Drill Instructor of the Quarter. In June 2010, he completed the Career Course, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA.

In July 2010, Staff Sergeant Taylor reported to MALS-24 and served as the Supply Support Division SNOIC, Supply Department. In December of 2010 he received special orders to the MAG-24 HQ to serve as the MAG-24 Fiscal OIC and Fiscal Chief. He was later assigned as the Company GySgt in March of 2011. He attended and completed the MCMAP Instructor Trainer course in MCB Quantico, VA and attained the MOS of 0917. He attended Advance Course in MCB Camp Pendleton, CA and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on October 2012.

        In November of 2012, he was selected to serve as the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing liasion until March of 2013.  In April 2013, he received orders to the United States Naval Academy to serve as the 13th Company SEL.

        His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with one gold star in lieu of 2nd award) and Good Conduct Medal (with three bronze stars in lieu of fourth award).
